The Macallan Pure Highland Malt Scotch Whisky 33 Year Old · 1950 Vintage
In stock
A rare 1950 distillation of Macallan and aged for 33 years in Ex-Sherry casks and released as a Macallan-Glenlivet which was the name of this Speyside great from 1892.
Back in the days when the Glenlivet name was used by many distilleries to signify the high regard of Glenlivet single malt and often used by distilleries with no connection to or indeed any link to the area of the Glen of livet in Speyside at all.
Bottled by the independent and family owned Gordon & Macphail company who are still releasing fantastic old bottlings of Macallan under "The Speymalt" Range.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Opulent sherried nose with dark dried fruits—raisin, fig and prune—layered over polished oak. Hints of leather and toffee emerge, joined by orange zest, cinnamon and nutmeg, with cocoa and a faint coffee nuance from long aging. Rich, warm, and inviting.
