Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-tinged mahogany and a warm, glowing oak.
Nose
Intense peat smoke and maritime iodine rise first, like a salt-swept bonfire. Underneath, kelp and subtle coastal air blend with varnished oak, delivering a refined, waxy sweetness. Dried fig and raisin from sherry whispers mingle with vanilla and cocoa, adding depth without heaviness.
Palate
On the palate, sea-salted peat coats the tongue with Lagavulin’s signature smoke. Medicinal iodine and minerals meet a nuanced sherry sweetness—ripe fig, dried plum, and a hint of dark chocolate—brightened by peppery spice and oak. The finish is long and maritime, with charcoal ash, leather, and a warm, lingering glow.
Finish
Long, maritime finish of peat smoke, sea-salt and iodine, carried on a whisper of cocoa. Dried fruit sweetness lingers as warm oak and a faint tar echo fade into a resinous, coastal glow.
