Lagavulin Celtic Pillage Malt Whisky 12 Year Old
Out of stock
This is a truly unique union of Scotch Whiskies from nine different distilleries. Forty litres of Isla Whisky were 'pillaged' for charity during the summer 2005, all of which were at least twelve years old. There are just 500 bottles of this fantastic and originally un-buyable expression.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with a warm, sunlit caramel glow and coppery depth, edged by a whisper of mahogany.
Nose
Bold peat smoke and sea-salt brine surge from the glass, followed by lush dried fruit, toffee and cocoa. Sherry-softened oak threads vanilla and spice through the profile, while iodine and maritime minerals keep it brisk and coastal, finishing long and fragrant.
Palate
An oily, full-bodied palate of monumental peat and coastal brine, tempered by sherry-enriched dark fruit. Notes of burnt caramel, cocoa, and fig mingle with leather and iodine. Rich vanilla and spice thread through the smoke, delivering a robust, long finish of ash, sea salt, and lingering warmth.
Finish
Long, peaty and coastal, with sea-salt and smoke lingering on the palate. The finish broadens into a warm, resinous sweetness, then slowly fades through cocoa and oak spice, leaving a drying, mineral afterglow.
