The annually released Hazelburn Sherry Wood range provides a stark contrast to the fully Bourbon matured Hazelburn 10 year old. Matured in 100% Oloroso Sherry casks, this 15 year old release is a complex, full-bodied dram.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with rich mahogany hues and a burnished copper glow.

Nose

Notes of cherry menthol, red cola, date syrup and black forest gateaux greet the nose on this fully Oloroso-matured Hazelburn. Soft fudge and caramel notes unfold with time, weaving a warm, velvety sherried bouquet.

Palate

Rich yet balanced on the palate, toffee apple, leather-bound books, demerara sugar and crème brûlée unfold into a luxurious, full-bodied profile.

Finish

A long, lingering finish of rum-soaked raisins and vanilla sponge, with warm, creamy sweetness that lingers.

(HAY-zel-burn) Hazelburn is produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown and takes its name from one of the town’s lost distilleries. It was first distilled at Springbank in 1997, adding a new style to a site better known for Springbank and Longrow, and the first Hazelburn bottling followed in 2005 as an 8 Year Old.
