Tasting Notes

Colour

Radiant amber-gold with burnished copper undertones and a subtle mahogany glow.

Nose

An aged, bookish aroma opens with leather-bound volumes, bung cloth and the damp scent of dunnage warehouses. It then sweetens into treacle and caramel, with a bramble lift weaving through the rich, resinous air.

Palate

Silky marshmallow and candy floss drift across the palate, with a syrupy mouthfeel and a subtle mineral sheen, an earthy undertone persisting from the nose for a refined, lingering finish.

Finish

Cocoa powder mingles with cappuccino and mint, lingering into a chocolatey, coffee-kissed finish.

(HAY-zel-burn) Hazelburn is produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown and takes its name from one of the town’s lost distilleries. It was first distilled at Springbank in 1997, adding a new style to a site better known for Springbank and Longrow, and the first Hazelburn bottling followed in 2005 as an 8 Year Old.
