Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with burnished copper highlights and a sunlit gold core.
Nose
Glossy wax, citrus peel and orchard fruit rise on the nose, paralleled by a rich sherry sweetness—prune, fig and raisin—layered with toasted almond, vanilla and treacle. A maritime, salty-briny undertone threads through, while spice and seasoned oak from 27 years in sherry-soaked European cask add depth and polish.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and richly sherried, with dark plum, raisin and fig balanced by candied orange. Spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—weave through the waxy, mineral Clynelish character, while oak and espresso linger into a long, velvety finish.
Finish
Long, refined finish where sherry-depths bloom around cacao, dried fig and orange zest, carried on Clynelish’s signature waxy, coastal edge. Warm oak spices linger with a touch of sea salt, slowly fading into a lasting, elegant sweetness.
