Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep burnished amber with copper-gold highlights and a sunlit bronze glow.

Nose

Fresh apple aromas mingle with walnut and gentle ginger spice, while Sicilian lime comes to the fore alongside aged leather.

Palate

Silky poached pear opens to apricot and banana, with a subtle vanilla whisper, followed by pineapple and mature oak lingering on the finish.

Finish

An expansive, long finish lingers with bright citrus zest, folded into vanilla and warm oak, leaving whispers of orchard fruit on the palate.

(KLINE-leash) Established in 1819 by the Marquis of Stafford in 1819, Clynelish was one of the first purpose-built distilleries. In 1823, the distillery became legal under the Excise Act. Unfortunately due to the recession in 1931 the distillery closed and did not open again until the end of World War II.
