Bowmore’s legendary No.1 Vaults is the birthplace of coveted and collectable whiskies.
Bowmore 18 Year Old is matured in both ex-bourbon barrels (for 13 years) and ex-manzanilla sherry barrels (for 5 years) taking on a rich antique gold colour.
A really well defined cask finish with the Manzanilla both adding and complimenting to the Bowmore house style, excellent complexity and a lingering finish to add to this impressive release.
Bottled at 52.5% ABV and two more wine cask finished releases to follow to complete the trilogy.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Notes of treacle, salted caramel, ripe blackcurrants, soft stone fruits, vanilla fudge, coconut and raspberry sponge cake,spiced Seville oranges, bitter chocolate and a whiff of earthy smoke, leather and old dunnage whisky warehouse.
Palate
Very elegant delivery with salted and smokey almond, toasted coconut, earthy raspberry, coastal herbs, peppery anise, charred pineapple, smoked ham and treacle.
Finish
Bitter oranges and a burst of peat smoke with more salted almond, peppery cured and smoked meat, star anise, tarry pineapple and sweet chilli marinated seafood on an Islay BBQ.
