Bowmore Timeless Series Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 27 Year Old
In stock
Released as part of Bowmore’s Timeless Series, this 27-year-old Islay single malt was bottled at 52.7% ABV with a total outturn of 3,000 bottles worldwide. The series celebrates Bowmore’s long maturation philosophy, with each whisky described as being “crafted and shaped by time.”
The whisky spent its first 15 years maturing in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks, before being transferred to first-fill Oloroso sherry butts for a further 12 years, a process designed to intensify the sherry influence while preserving Bowmore’s classic coastal character.
Expect a rich and complex profile where stewed plums, raisins and sultanas meet notes of toffee, maple syrup and liquorice, with Bowmore’s gentle Islay smoke and maritime character adding depth. The palate develops dark chocolate, chestnut honey, tobacco and roasted coffee, leading to a long finish with dried fruits, oak spice and lingering peat smoke.
The presentation includes a distinctive box containing a three-minute hourglass, designed to encourage drinkers to spend time appreciating the whisky’s aroma before tasting — a nod to the “timeless” theme behind the series.
