Cask Strength Single Cask

Since 1811, Port Dundas Distillery has been a beacon of Glasgow's Scotch whisky capital and was once the largest distillery in Scotland, but the last drops fell from the stills in 2011 and sadly soon demolished. Here, we honour this vintage spirit from one of Scotland's iconic lost distilleries.

Gently matured for 26 years, this sweet, creamy spirit from Port Dundas Distillery has been elegantly elevated by a fruit ladened ex-Bourbon hogshead. The gentle nature and the graceful influences from this lost American oak provide a classy platform for this lost lowlander to shine - this is Inspired Scotch Whisky.

Luminous golden amber with honeyed warmth and coppery glints.

Nose

An elegant, creamy bouquet of buttercream gives way to sun-warmed apricot jelly, with a delicate veil of vanilla pod lingering in the glass.

Palate

Sweet popcorn unfolds on the palate, followed by banana custard and a gentle toffee linger. Creamy, velvety textures weave with subtle oak sweetness, leaving a refined dessert-like finish.

Finish

A mellow oak finish lingers, leaving a gentle echo of sweet cereal on the palate.

Port Dundas (silent)
(port DUN-duss) Port Dundas was founded in Glasgow in 1811 beside the Forth & Clyde Canal, and for much of its life it was one of the city’s great whisky landmarks. A second nearby distillery, Cowlairs, later merged with Port Dundas in 1860, and in 1877 the site became one of the founding members of Distillers Company Limited, underlining its importance in the history of Scotch grain whisky.
