This Lowland single grain whisky was distilled in May 1999 and bottled in 2016. The spirit was aged in a single American oak cask, with additional aging in a brandy wood cask (#9448) for a total of 17 years.

Colour

Rich amber-gold with honeyed warmth and a soft copper-bronze glow.

Nose

Delicately perfumed, this nose opens with vanilla bean and honeyed cereals, lifting to ripe orchard fruit with apricot and pear. Subtle brandy-cask influence adds soft poached fruit, almond pastry, and a whisper of dried fig, all rested in warm, polished oak.

Palate

Silky and delicate on the palate, with creamy vanilla, honeyed toffee and orchard fruit. Brandy cask influence brings raisiny depth, hints of dried apricot and warm spice, wrapped in soft oak. Light, refined body leaves a lingering citrusy sweetness and subtle almond biscuit.

Finish

Long and elegant, this finish unfolds with warm vanilla and orchard fruits, lightly seasoned with brandy-spice. Subtle oak sweetness and caramel trail into a cognac-like glow, lingering softly and inviting the next sip.

Port Dundas (silent)
(port DUN-duss) Port Dundas was founded in Glasgow in 1811 beside the Forth & Clyde Canal, and for much of its life it was one of the city’s great whisky landmarks. A second nearby distillery, Cowlairs, later merged with Port Dundas in 1860, and in 1877 the site became one of the founding members of Distillers Company Limited, underlining its importance in the history of Scotch grain whisky.
