Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold sheen and subtle ruby-tinged edges, a wine-warmed glow that radiates from the glass.

Nose

Honey and orchard fruits take the lead on the nose, with delicate almond notes and a whisper of red berry, weaving a subtle, inviting sweetness.

Palate

Silky mid-palate of dark chocolate and cacao, balanced by ripe cherry, plum and stone fruit. Rich toffee sweetness threads through, with gentle oak adding warmth. Finishes long and fruit-forward, the Amarone-cask influence lingering as a refined, indulgent close.

Finish

Sweetness and fruit notes unfold from the Amarone-cask finish, delivering a richly rewarding, fruit-forward finale with hints of chocolate and toffee lingering on the palate.

Cambus (silent)
(CAM-bus) Cambus was founded in 1806 by John Moubray at a former mill near Alloa, and began life as a malt distillery before shifting decisively into grain whisky in 1836 with the installation of Stein patent stills. Under the Moubray family it grew quickly, with a Coffey still added in 1851 and the site expanding into one of the largest grain distilleries in Scotland. In 1877, Cambus became one of the founding companies of Distillers Company Limited.
