Allt-a-Bhainne Cooper's Choice - Single Sauternes Cask #703 Whisky 25 Year Old · 1993 Vintage
In stock
A well aged Allt a Bhainne bottled under the Cooper's Choice label. Interestingly this has been finished in a Sauternes cask, a sweet wine produced south of Bordeaux in France.
The cask imparts layers of sweetness; lychee, apricot and pineapple to the light and spicy bourbon cask element of this lesser known Speysider. One of only 285 bottles from this batch. This is a cracking price for a whisky that's a quarter of a century old.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Warm, sunlit golden amber with honeyed depth and a subtle coppery glow.
Nose
An enticing, tropical bouquet—lychee, apricot and pineapple—lifted by a light, spicy bourbon-cask backbone, and finished with a generous, honeyed Sauternes sweetness.
Palate
Silky, tropical sweetness unfurls on the palate, with lychee, apricot and pineapple weaving through a light bourbon oak backbone. Vanilla-spice nuance lingers as the Sauternes influence delivers honeyed sweetness without overload, yielding a refined, fruit-forward mid-palate that carries into a warm, lingering finish.
Finish
Silky, dessert-wine sweetness lingers long, a Sauternes finish weaving lychee, apricot and pineapple through a light, spicy bourbon backbone. The fruit persists with a honeyed warmth, vanilla and a whisper of almond, leaving a refined, sun-kissed finish that fades to elegant fruit and spice.
