Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with a warm honey glow and a subtle coppery sheen.

Nose

Sweet vanilla and butterscotch form a creamy, inviting core, while coconut adds tropical softness and a subtle note of pencil shavings, lending a bright, graphite-like lift to the aroma.

Palate

Delicious sweet bourbon notes with gentle spice and fruit, complemented by a coconut burst, a touch of pine straw, toasted marshmallows and more vanilla.

Finish

A fabulous old-grain finish that mouth-coats the palate with creamy vanilla and coconut, a touch of spice and oak lingering into a moreish, warm fade.

Strathclyde
(strath-CLYDE) Strathclyde was founded in Glasgow in 1927 by London distiller Seager Evans, on the site of an old cotton mill in the Gorbals. It was originally built to produce neutral grain spirit for gin, before moving into Scotch whisky after Seager Evans bought the Long John brand in 1936. The distillery later gained an unusual extra chapter in its history when the Kinclaith malt distillery operated within the same site from 1957 to 1975.
