Port Dundas (silent) North Star Single Cask Whisky 12 Year Old · 2004 Vintage
In stock
Port Dundas was a Lowland Grain Distillery near Glasgow that finally closed its doors in 2011.
A much underrated style of Whisky with most of it destined for blending but when it is given the same care and attention to detail as Single malt it can be very much its equal.
A great value for money single cask release and offers something a little bit different from what i have tried from Port Dundas before.

Deep amber with coppery-bronze highlights and a hint of mahogany.
Nose
Fresh and inviting, lime and elderflower rise with pear in vanilla syrup, a whisper of angelica, and a subtle peppery oak spice.

Silky white chocolate with sugared almond and lime curd, lifted by a white pepper spark and a touch of saline spice for a crisp, balanced palate.
Finish
A lingering finish of anise and boiled sweets, bright lime and elderflower, with hints of fresh cereal, finishing in mint chocolate and a warming kick of spicy ginger.
