Bottled for Murray McDavid’s Benchmark series, this Highland Park was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026 at 17 years old. Matured in ex-bourbon cask and bottled at 54.1% ABV, it was released in an outturn of 564 bottles.
Ex-bourbon wood gives a brighter, cleaner view of Highland Park, allowing the distillery’s honeyed malt, soft fruit and heathery smoke to show clearly. After 17 years in cask, the whisky feels mature and composed, with the bourbon cask adding vanilla and oak structure rather than overt sweetness.
