The second release of what will be the Viking Legend series following on from the Highland Park Valkyrie.
A more phenolic peat level than the Valkyrie and aged in predominantly Sherry seasoned American oak casks with a small amount of Orkney grown Tartan barley used in the mash which adds to a more smokier and lingering sweet and spicy style of Highland Park.
Valknut translates as "knot of those killed in battle" and the bottle and its packaging has been designed by a famous Danish designer, Jim Lyngvild.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery mahogany highlights.
Nose
Toasted vanilla pods mingle with cracked black pepper, oak shavings and cloves, brightened by aniseed and a veil of aromatic smoke.
Palate
Sweet, aromatic cloves mingle with tangy aniseed on the palate, a spice-kissed core carried by a subtle smoky sweetness that lingers with a touch of Sherry-warmth.
Finish
Intensely balanced, bold and courageous, the finish lingers with aromatic peat smoke and sweet spices.
