A 16 Year Old Single Cask Glenglassaugh bottled by the SMWS. Distilled in 1985 and matured in American Oak Hohsheads. This is bottled at cask strength and is a fairly unusual release as the distillery was closed at this point.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Lustrous golden amber with honeyed warmth and a whisper of copper.
Nose
Vanilla and toffee lead, framed by toasted oak and creamy coconut. Citrus zest lifts ripe green apple and pear, while dried apricot and almond add subtle nutty sweetness. A gentle kiss of cinnamon and nutmeg weaves through, keeping the aroma vibrant and powerful at this cask-strength release.
Palate
Full-bodied and at cask strength, the palate unfolds with vanilla and caramel from American oak, glazed with creamy toffee. Orchard fruit—pear and dried apricot—emerge beside citrus zest, while cinnamon, clove, and ginger weave through the mid-palate. A mouth-coating texture, disciplined tannins, and a long, warming finish echoing honeyed sweetness and refined oak.
Finish
Long, warming finish carved by vanilla and toasted American oak, with caramel and orange zest persisting on the palate. A measured spice builds, then eases into a resinous oak echo, leaving a faint coastal breeze and lingering sweetness that fades gracefully.
