Ben Nevis Sherry Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 25 Year Old · 1984 Vintage
Out of stock
A very well presented 25 year old Ben Nevis. This expression has been 'double matured'. Firstly, Bourbon Barrels had been used under the ownership of Long John International. Then, 13 years later in 1998 such casks were vatted and transferred to Sherry Puncheons by the current Japanese owners, Nikka. These now Sherry casks were then transferred from Warehouse No3 to Warehouse No2 for another 12 (almost 13) years of maturation.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery sheen and burnished mahogany edges, a warm, glistening hue that speaks of sherry-matured richness.
Nose
Opulent sherry leads the nose, married to warm Bourbon vanilla and toasted oak. Rich dried fruits—prune, fig, raisin—spark orange zest, maple sweetness, and subtle almond, cocoa and spice. A whisper of Christmas cake, toffee and tobacco/leather lends depth, signaling a double-matured Highland dram with extraordinary richness.
Palate
Opulent and full-bodied, this Ben Nevis delivers a double-matured palate: bourbon sweetness layered with sherry richness. Dark fruit—fig, raisin—and orange peel mingle with cocoa, almonds and praline. Spices rise—clove, nutmeg—over a velvety, oily mouthfeel, finishing long with oak, chocolate and coffee notes.
Finish
Silky, expansive finish that unfolds with dried fruit sweetness—raisin, fig and date—alongside dark chocolate and caramel. Sherry cask influence wraps in velvety warmth, lightly spiced with pepper and espresso, as oak lingers and the fruit notes fade into a long, refined warmth.
