For over a quarter of a century, this rare Single Malt has developed and mellowed, becoming concentrated, full-bodied and indulgent. Patiently matured in Bourbon and Sherry oak, this Whisky is brimming with the dark intensity of chocolate praline and spices.

Aromas of pineapple and apricots intertwine with aromatic cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by toffee apples and honey. Taste the tropical flavours of mango and pineapple laced with warming notes of cloves and ginger. Finishes with the long and lingering notes of dark chocolate and tropical fruits.

Deep copper-gold with amber and mahogany undertones, a warm, honeyed glow.

Nose

Pineapple and apricot rise on the nose, braided with cinnamon and nutmeg. Hints of toffee apples and honey mingle with a dark chocolate praline depth, while warm spice and oak finish the aroma with elegant richness.

Palate

Opulent and full-bodied on the palate, a velvety richness carries dark chocolate praline with a spine of warm spices. Mango and pineapple mingle with cloves and ginger, while hints of toffee and honey thread through the fruit sweetness. A long, lingering finish echoes tropical fruits, balanced by refined oak.

Finish

Long and lingering, the finish pools in dark chocolate praline with tropical fruit notes of mango and pineapple. Subtle warmth from cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves lingers, finished by a whisper of ginger for a silky, indulgent close.

Balblair
(bal-BLAIR) Balblair was founded in 1790 by John Ross at Edderton in the Northern Highlands, overlooking the Dornoch Firth. The distillery remained with the Ross family through much of the 19th century, before being rebuilt in 1894 closer to the railway while continuing to use water from the Allt Dearg burn. Later owners included Hiram Walker, and Inver House Distillers acquired Balblair in 1996.
