Matured on the remote, north-eastern coastline of Islay, and produced using pure spring water from the Margadale Spring, this 12 Year Old Cask Strength is an undiluted celebration of the distillery’s hugely popular Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old expression.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany.

Nose

Dark berries mingle with citrus and toasted oak, evolving into soft vanilla and a whisper of cinnamon spice.

Palate

Creamy chocolate coats the palate, complemented by sherry-soaked fruit and a balanced nuttiness. Cloves and nutmeg unfold, while a subtle sea-salt spray adds maritime depth.

Finish

A long, lingering sweetness with bright cherry notes, finishing in a gentle kiss of wood spice.

Bunnahabhain
(BUNNA-hah-ven) Built in 1881, Bunnahabhain is situated on the north east coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay near Caol Ila. Bunnahabhain's initial aim was to produce Whisky for blending only. While it was used across the industry, it performed a central role in three famous blends: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle. Following a short period of closure in the early 1980s, Bunnahabhain re-emerged as a Single Malt.
