This special edition was created exclusively for Fèis Ìle 2022. Bursting with character, it slumbered peacefully for two decades before spending the last two years of its life in casks which once held the finest French Calvados. This Gallic influence has imbued every golden drop with sublime sweetness; flavours of apples and pears tumbling gently with toffee and oily fruitiness and leading to a strong and spicy finish.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Barley sugar, pear drops, toffee apples. Followed by a burst of dates and a floral top note like conifer trees.

Palate

Sweet and fruity, lots of green apple and pear candies. Some signature cereal, oily notes of Bunnahabhain and more toffee mixed with dried fruits.

Finish

Spicy powerful then floral on the palate.

Bunnahabhain
(BUNNA-hah-ven) Built in 1881, Bunnahabhain is situated on the north east coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay near Caol Ila. Bunnahabhain's initial aim was to produce Whisky for blending only. While it was used across the industry, it performed a central role in three famous blends: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle. Following a short period of closure in the early 1980s, Bunnahabhain re-emerged as a Single Malt.
