Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Smoke to start, a smoldered fire with tar and distant rubbery hints of skidding tyres. Behind it lie black cherry, walnut bread and Nutella, the smoke all-pervasive. As it evolves, raisin and paprika surface, while the rubbery edge lingers—especially when water is added.
Palate
Immediate bonfire smoke and hot charcoal frame a clear, candied sweetness. The smoke envelops the palate, then reveals a figgy, gingery core; with water the rubber recedes and minty gingerbread and dark fruit notes emerge, carried on a rich, oily finish.
Finish
Long, resinous and smoky, with heavy oils coating the palate as peat smoke lingers, a warm, charred sweetness tying the finish together.
