Bunnahabhain Staoisha - Leith Bond Single Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask #10652 Whisky 12 Year Old
In stock
This 12-year-old Staoisha from Bunnahabhain was bottled by Leith Bond from a single Pedro Ximénez sherry cask at 52% ABV. The combination of heavily peated Staoisha spirit and a PX cask gives this whisky a rich, smoky and full-bodied style, with the cask bringing a darker, sweeter edge to the coastal Islay profile.
Pedro Ximénez casks work especially well with peated whisky when the balance is right, and here the sweetness of the cask adds layers of treacle, dried fruit and spice alongside earthy smoke and maritime character. The result is a bold, characterful bottling, with smoke and sherried richness running side by side.
