Tasting Notes

Nose

Sherry-rich and coastal on the nose: dried figs, raisins and orange zest mingle with cocoa dust, vanilla and almond. A subtle ginger thread weaves through while sea-air, brine and mineral notes lend maritime brightness, hinting at the Octave’s refined sherry influence.

Palate

Sea air, lemon sponge, vanilla essence, ginger and oily.

Finish

Dried figs, ginger biscuits, gentle sherry, raspberry coulis, salted caramel.

Bunnahabhain
(BUNNA-hah-ven) Built in 1881, Bunnahabhain is situated on the north east coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay near Caol Ila. Bunnahabhain's initial aim was to produce Whisky for blending only. While it was used across the industry, it performed a central role in three famous blends: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle. Following a short period of closure in the early 1980s, Bunnahabhain re-emerged as a Single Malt.
