From independent bottler, Wemyss Malts comes this 28 year old Bunnahabhain, entitled Islay Porridge. Distilled in 1990 and bottled at 46.2% ABV the whisky has been aged in American Oak hogsheads with a decent amount of the cask shining through resulting in a porridge of almonds, coconut and rock salt and smooth, sweet creaminess derived from the hogshead.

On the palate, a porridge of almonds, coconut and rock salt unfolds into creamy sweetness. The American oak lends vanilla and a nutty, mouth-coating texture, with a gentle saline lift and a long, silky finish.
Finish
Long, creamy finish with almond and coconut notes, speckled by mineral rock-salt and a sweet vanilla-honey glow from the hogshead. The oak softens to a gentle spice, leaving a coastal warmth that lingers, like a sun-warmed seaside breeze.
