This velvety rich dram was created to celebrate Fèis Ìle 2022, the most important festival on Islay and within the Whisky community. Meaning Araig River in Scots Gaelic, this Limited Edition has been matured in ex-Bourbon and Pedro Ximenez octave casks, hand-selected to push the boundaries of sherry maturation. The result is a classic Bunnahabhain dram - bold, unpeated and sherried with a spicy cinnamon burst.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep burnished amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany.

Nose

Silky chocolate notes intertwine with powdered ginger and a refined cigar-box scent, delivering a warm, inviting nose with a touch of luxurious depth.

Palate

Velvety and luxurious, the palate opens with creamy milk chocolate, then sweet raisins and dried raspberries. As the PX maturation deepens, balsamic vinegar notes and honeyed macadamias emerge, finishing with a warm, lingering spice.

Finish

Deep and rich, with dark toffee and a final spicy burst of cinnamon that lingers.

Bunnahabhain
(BUNNA-hah-ven) Built in 1881, Bunnahabhain is situated on the north east coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay near Caol Ila. Bunnahabhain's initial aim was to produce Whisky for blending only. While it was used across the industry, it performed a central role in three famous blends: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle. Following a short period of closure in the early 1980s, Bunnahabhain re-emerged as a Single Malt.
