Bunnahabhain Moine Pedro Ximenez Finish Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 22 Year Old · 1997 Vintage
Out of stock
A new limited edition release from Bunnahabhain. This 22 Year Old, heavily peated single malt was initailly filled into American Oak barrels back in 1997 before a finishing period in sweet Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.
This has a distinctive flavour of rich Islay peat and peppery smokiness, swirling with sweeter undercurrents of vanilla, caramel and soft fruits. A wonderful mix of sweet and smoky, this is one one of the best balanced smoky Bunnahabhains to have been released and with only 1661 bottles produced, this is sure to disappear quickly.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a hint of mahogany, a warm, glass-staining glow that promises sherried richness.
Nose
Aromas unfurl with bold Islay peat and peppery smoke, tempered by Pedro Ximénez sweetness: vanilla, caramel and toffee mingle with ripe dried fruits—figs and raisins—while a faint maritime lift threads through the aroma.
Palate
Powerful Islay peat and peppery smoke drive the palate, tempered by creamy vanilla and caramel. Sweet PX-driven fruit notes—raisin, fig, and dried plum—emerge against a velvety sherry gloss, yielding a balanced, luxurious sweetness that lingers with the signature smoky finish.
Finish
Long, smoky finish, rich with Islay peat and peppery smoke, unfolding into vanilla and caramel. Dried fruit sweetness from the Pedro Ximenez cask lingers softly, leaving a warm, refined spice.
