This rare find from the Bunnahabhain distillery in Islay has been matured for 5 decades since being distilled in 1968.

A savoury maritime nose with tropical fruits and antique furniture. On the palate there are notes of brine followed by dried apricot and ginger with citrus peel. Sweet hints of dark chocolate and christmas cake lead to a long, sweet, malty finish.

Dark amber with mahogany undertones and a warm copper-gold glow.

Nose

Savoury maritime nose with gentle brine and a lift of tropical fruits, carried by an evocative whiff of antique furniture—time-worn wood, lacquer, and leather.

Palate

Brine on the palate gives way to dried apricot and ginger with citrus peel, entwined with sweet dark chocolate and hints of Christmas cake. A long, sweet, malty finish lingers.

Bunnahabhain
(BUNNA-hah-ven) Built in 1881, Bunnahabhain is situated on the north east coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay near Caol Ila. Bunnahabhain's initial aim was to produce Whisky for blending only. While it was used across the industry, it performed a central role in three famous blends: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle. Following a short period of closure in the early 1980s, Bunnahabhain re-emerged as a Single Malt.
