A Bunnahabhain single malt bottled by Elixir Distillers for the Single Malts of Scotland Director’s Special series, this 31 year old was bottled in 2019 after long maturation in oak. Bottled at 42.5% ABV, the release was limited to 195 bottles.
Extended ageing brings added depth and refinement to Bunnahabhain’s naturally coastal, malt-driven style, with gentle oak influence, soft spice and layered richness developing over three decades while retaining the distillery’s clean, maritime character.

Deep, sunlit amber with copper-gold glints and a hint of mahogany, radiating coastal warmth and refined oak.
Nose
Coastal and refined, the nose offers sea-salted barley and honeyed malt, touched by vanilla and gentle oak spice. Subtle maritime brine, a whisper of wax, and light nutmeg drift through, while layers of dried orchard fruit deepen beneath polished, mature oak—an elegant, long-aged coastal aroma.
Palate
Silky and restrained, the palate delivers creamy malt balanced by subtle oak. Honeyed sweetness widens into vanilla and toffee, while dried-fruit depth adds warmth. Coastal brine and sea-spray lift the profile, with white pepper and nutmeg spice threading through. A long, refined finish carries maritime echoes and softly integrated oak.
