Togouchi Chapter 2 Blended Whisky 18 Year Old
Out of stock
Togouchi Japanese whisky is very interesting in its creation. It has been created by Chugoku Jozo. The company imports Scottish malt whisky and Canadian grain whisky. Once these are in Japan they are left to mature in a mixture of sherry and brandy casks. They are matured in an old railway tunnel too! This 18 year old version is rich, sweet and oak driven.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a warm, honey-gold glow.
Nose
A lush, sweet aroma of caramel, toffee and honey, threaded with vanilla and toasted oak. Sherry-brandy influences unfold as dark fruits—prune and fig—with orange zest, while spice and a whisper of tobacco linger in the oak’s embrace.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and richly sweet, with caramel, toffee and dried fruit unfolding over a satin mouthfeel. Sherry- and brandy-cask maturation imparts depth and a ripe fruit character against a sturdy oak backbone. Warm vanilla and subtle spice linger, delivering a long, refined finish.
Finish
A long, velvety finish that clings to the tongue with honeyed sweetness and vanilla caramel, anchored by bold oak. Subtle hints of dried fruit and sherry-brandy linger, warming the palate into a refined, lingering fade.
