We use beer casks that have been used to age fragrant and flavorful IPA beer to finish our Blended Japanese Whisky Togouchi BEER CASK FINISH. The light bitterness of hops and young grassy aroma add a moderate bitter flavor and accent to the whisky.

Nose

Fresh hops and young grass rise with citrus sparks, a bright, IPA-inspired bouquet. The nose feels green and buoyant, as citrus zest threads through subtle herbal notes, hinting at the beer cask finish and offering a crisp, refreshing edge that lingers with sunlit brightness.

Palate

A gentle custard sweetness coats the palate, tempered by grapefruit bitterness with a citrus brightness, yielding a balanced, lingering finish.

Finish

A mellow sweetness lingers, gracefully balanced by a gentle bitter edge, leaving a refined, citrus-kissed finish with a soft, lingering warmth.

Togouchi
Togouchi is the whisky name used by Sakurao Brewery and Distillery in Hiroshima. The company has made alcoholic drinks in Sakurao since 1918, established Sakurao Distillery in 2017, and released single malt Togouchi in 2021. The name comes from Togouchi, the mountain area now part of Akiota, where casks are matured in cellars and tunnel storage at the foot of Mount Osorakan rather than at the distillery itself.
