Coffey Malt is made from 100% malted barley. However it is not categorized as “malt whisky” but as “grain whisky” since it is not distilled in a pot still. Rather, it has been distilled in a Coffey continuous still, resulting in a softer, fruitier whisky with a creamy texture. A little drier and spicier than the corn based Coffey Grain.
Somewhere style wise between Irish pot still (Redbreast) and Aged Bourbon, a thick and luxurious Malt with a difference.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a sun-kissed honey glow and a whisper of copper.
Nose
Big, bold spice frames mocha and black cherry, with Bourbon‑style vanilla and a hint of pot‑still spice. Toasted, aromatic oak supports banana‑in‑butterscotch, chocolate, nuts and toffee, weaving a creamy, inviting aroma.
Palate
An oily, luxurious palate of spiced chocolate and kirsch, plump with Bourbon-tinged vanilla and a hint of rum-like demerara sweetness. Aromatic spices weave with firm oak, delivering a rich, creamy mouthfeel that blooms into a long, warming finish.
Finish
Black cherry and chocolate give way to crème brûlée tops, then a hot toffee/butterscotch sauce with toasted vanilla, cinnamon and allspice, a long, lingering finish.
