Tasting Notes

Nose

Sea-salt and peat smoke sweep the nose, edged with iodine and cracked pepper. A briny breeze carries dark fruit—prune and fig—touched by toasted oak. Subtle sherry sweetness threads through, hinting at cacao and toffee, enriching the maritime core without masking the distillery’s signature smoke.

Talisker
(TAL-iss-ker) Talisker was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill in Carbost on the shores of Loch Harport, and it remains the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye. Its history includes a major stillhouse fire in 1960, after which the distillery was rebuilt with exact replicas of the original stills to preserve its character, and it now forms part of Diageo’s malt whisky portfolio.
