Completing the triumvirate of Skye distilleries is the first, and hopefully not only, bottling of Talisker. A notoriously hard-to-secure make for independent bottlers, this is a big, hearty and gutsy example of the famous Skye make.
Distilled in 2011, it started its life in refill hogsheads before moving to a 1st-fill sherry butt, where it spent the second half of its life. This bottling has been released at natural cask strength and is a particularly satisfying example of Talisker.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Tar, salt, pepper, ozone, smoked meats, pipe tobacco, Maggi, ointments and waxy lemon peel.
Palate
Very rugged, thick and full of pepper, coal smoke, tar, dunnage earthen floors, slightly greasy and mechanical aspects and a very rich underlying note of black olives in brine.
Finish
Long, mineral, oily, tarry, peppery and waxy.
