Douglas Laing's "Old Particular" is a particularly unique series of individually hand-selected aged Single Cask Malts' and Single Cask Single Grains from all over Scotland. This 10 year old Talisker single malt whisky, bottled in 2020, is one of 376 bottles aged exclusively in a refill hogshead.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with a warm honey glow and a subtle copper sheen.

Nose

Smoky bonfire and coastal sea salt mingle with a whisper of caramel, conjuring maritime warmth and a bright, seaside sweetness.

Palate

Fresh malted barley forms the backbone, with seaweed and sea salt adding briny depth, a charcoal edge lending smoke, and a faint rubber note weaving through the palate for a maritime, rustic mouthfeel.

Finish

Long with ginger spice, sweet lemon drops, cured ham, toffee and gentle peat.

Talisker
(TAL-iss-ker) Talisker was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill in Carbost on the shores of Loch Harport, and it remains the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye. Its history includes a major stillhouse fire in 1960, after which the distillery was rebuilt with exact replicas of the original stills to preserve its character, and it now forms part of Diageo’s malt whisky portfolio.
