A sensational new release from Diageo and the Talisker distillery. The Talisker Bodega 41 Year Old was distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2019, making it the oldest whisky ever released from the Isle of Skye, from the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye.
The 41 Year Old whisky, made by the sea in Scotland, has been expertly finished in Manzanilla Sherry casks from Delgado Zuleta. Bottled at a cask strength of 50.7% ABV to allow the drinker to experience the whisky in its purest, most powerful form.
This is the 2nd in a 3 part series showcasing the oldest official bottlings from the distillery, and follows on from last years 40 year old.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep sun-kissed amber with copper-gold highlights and a tawny, mahogany edge.
Nose
Dry, maritime and mild, with a delicate prickle from the spirit's character. Salty-spicy top notes cradle a sweet, mellow fruit core with hints of caramelised apple crumble. A light maritime base—faded boat varnish, dried fish—with a whisper of smoke. A drop of water shifts little, softening the profile while drawing out smoke.
Palate
At natural strength, it glides from soft fudge sweetness into maritime salt and pepper, with a rising wave of smoke and a peppery heat that lingers. The mouthfeel is full, rich, and velvety. A touch of Manzanilla Sherry influence brightens with savoury depth, leaving a long, smoky finish.
Finish
Long, hot and smoky, deliciously peppery with mouth-cooling Sichuan pepper in the aftertaste and lingering threads of peat smoke; adding water calms the heat while extending the finish.
