The Distillers Editions are an annual release of the finest single malts, double-matured in batches using individually prepared casks that have held a specially selected fortified wine, chosen to complement the characteristics of each mature whisky. Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold glow and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Maritime smoke and sea-iodine mingle with peat, salt and a coastal tang. The fortified-wine finish adds glossy sweetness: raisins and figs with vanilla, almond and a hint of cocoa. A peppery citrus lift keeps the aroma bright, yielding a refined, smoky Talisker nose full of depth and warmth.
Palate
On the palate, smoky peat and sea-salt mingle with a lush sherried sweetness. Dark fig and raisin weave through treacle and cocoa, while a peppery lift sparks the mid-palate. The wine influence lingers, delivering warm spice and iodine-kissed marine notes, a full, complex profile that sails into a long, graceful finish.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with sea-air brightness, lifted by sherry-cask sweetness. Peat remains refined and persistent, revealing dried fig, cocoa and a touch of orange peel, then a warming spice that lingers as the maritime glow slowly fades to a caramel-tinged dryness.
