St. Magdalene (silent) Old Malt Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 26 Year Old · 1982 Vintage
Out of stock
A long closed distillery that like the other closed or silent Lowland malts of Bladnoch, Rosebank and Littlemill has more of an oily, herbal and grassy citrus spice like character than the two Lowland malts still in production at Glenkinchie and Auchentoshan. Great old fashioned Lowland with an almost vermouth like dryness & lemon barley freshness.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a coppery-gold glow, edged by mahogany hues and a warm, honeyed shimmer.
Nose
An oily, herbal bouquet with lemon barley freshness and grassy citrus zest. Delicate spice threads through, leaving a vermouth-like dryness that lingers on the nose. A refined Lowland air—bright, minty citrus, subtle sweetness, and an old-world elegance that hints at a storied distillery past.
Palate
Oily, mouth-coating texture leads into herbal, grassy citrus with lemon zest and barley notes. A vermouth-like dryness anchors the palate, unfolding into a brisk, refined finish with subtle spice and lemon brightness that lingers.
Finish
Long, dry finish with vermouth-like citrus and lemon barley freshness lingering through herbal oils. Grassy spice remains, slowly fading to a refined, subtly oak-backed elegance.
