Shaved, toasted and re-charred ex-red wine casks provide a balanced and nuanced maturation, offering the ideal environment for the distillery’s light and creamy whisky to draw out delicious red-fruit flavours from the wood. Created using their bespoke oak solera method and bottled at 47.3% ABV, this release marks an exciting next step for the distillery.

Produced using a solera-style approach—more accurately described as a fractional blending method—each time Filey Bay STR Red Wine Cask is bottled, the whisky is replaced with casks carefully selected from the warehouse. This ensures a consistent flavour profile while allowing the whisky to gain age, depth and complexity.
