A single second-fill ex-Islay barrel of Spirit of Yorkshire single malt, distilled in 2018, matured for 6 years, and bottled at a lightly reduced strength of 57.1%.

This is the first Spirit of Yorkshire release to show a noticeable touch of peat smoke. Rich and creamy, it delivers layers of natural cereal character, beautifully balanced by coastal notes and soft, smoky undertones.

Spirit of Yorkshire was founded in 2016 by farmer and brewer Tom Mellor and business partner David Thompson. Based in Hunmanby, near Filey on the Yorkshire coast, it grew from the Mellor family’s farming background and Wold Top Brewery, using home-grown barley and local water to create Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky.
