Old Orkney Relics is a 30-year-old blended Scotch whisky originally created by Gordon & MacPhail in 1996 under the historic Old Orkney name. Matured in a single refill sherry butt and bottled at natural cask strength, this one-off revival was released at 41.7% ABV with an outturn of 492 bottles.
The long maturation has produced an exceptionally approachable old blend, balancing waxy texture, dried fruit and gentle sherry influence with the honeyed, herbal qualities traditionally associated with mature Orkney whisky. It preserves both the character of the original liquid and the legacy of one of Scotland’s most fondly remembered whisky names.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Beeswax, camphor and mineral oil, followed by dried fruit, sultanas, shoe leather and cedar wood.
Palate
Soft and exceptionally easy-drinking, with waxy hessian, heather honey and generous dried and crystallised fruit.
Finish
Surprisingly long, glowing with heather honey, herbs and persistent waxy notes.
