Rosebank (silent) Natural Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky 25 Year Old · 1981 Vintage
Out of stock
A limited edition individually numbered bottle, which is very different to traditional Rosebank's due to it's high strength (considering its age) and powerful spicy flavours - it will probably scare most traditional Rosebank drinkers, so have some water standing by. An outstanding a currently overlooked dram which should really be a £1,000 bottle and in fact one day it probably will be.

"I've tasted a few hundred, possibly thousands of casks of this stuff over the last 25 years. Is this the greatest of all time? I am beginning to wonder. Is it the most extraordinary since the single malt revolution took off? Certainly. Do i endorse it? My god, yes!"

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a sunlit, honey-gold radiance.
Nose
Powerful, floral and fruity nose: rose and violet lift with orchard notes of pear and apple, beneath a rich sherry‑inflected sweetness of dried fig and raisin. Spices—cinnamon, clove, white pepper—lace through oak and a waxy, perfumed malt. The 61.4% ABV adds a warming bite to the bouquet, hinting at the impressive intensity to come.
Palate
A fearless, full-bodied palate of honeyed citrus and orchard fruit is swept up in a blaze of spice—pepper, ginger and clove—carried by fierce cask-strength warmth. Sherried notes of raisin, fig and cocoa mingle with vanilla oak, delivering a waxy, oily mouthfeel. It finishes long and drying, with peppery spice lingering and a hint of almond.
Finish
Long, warming finish of bold spices—cinnamon, clove and pepper—carried by sherry sweetness. Oak tannins dry the palate, while citrus zest and cocoa notes linger in a refined, ember-soft fade.
