Tasting Notes

Nose

Opulent sherry-soaked aromas unfold in waves: dark plum, dried fig and date mingle with treacle and orange zest. Vanilla and cocoa nibs emerge from glossy oak, while burnt sugar adds a caramel sheen. Spices of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg warm the nose, with subtle leather and tobacco lending refined, aged depth to this Ben Nevis single-cask.

His son Peter took up the reins soon after and built a significant business and by the end of the 19th century, when blended Scotch was becoming the fashion, Long John’s Dew of Ben Nevis was a successful brand.
