Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany-amber with coppery-bronze highlights.
Nose
Peat smoke and maritime iodine surge from the glass, a briny Islay breeze. Sherry-cask influence surfaces with dark fig and raisin sweetness, while cocoa, leather and polished oak spice curl through the lingering aroma.
Palate
Silky yet peaty, this Port Ellen coats the palate with bold sherry-influenced sweetness. Dark plum, fig and cocoa ride over maritime smoke and iodine, with toasted barley and leather. Full-bodied and velvety, it lingers long, saline and spiced, leaving a warming, smoky finish.
Finish
Islay peat and sea-salt weave through a long, velvet afterglow of dark fruit, cocoa and spice, with tobacco and leather lingering as a warm, resinous echo.
