The Miyagikyo distillery or Sendai distillery as it used to be known opened in 1969 and was the second to be opened by the Nikka company after Yoichi in 1934.This 10 year old is a now delisted bottle and very hard to find.
A sweet and aromatic malt with trademark Miyagikyo fruityness and delicate spice.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Sunlit golden amber with honeyed warmth and a gentle copper glow.
Nose
Aromatic wood resin, floral honey, toffee apple, buttery oak and pine nuts.
Palate
On the palate, pears in toffee sauce mingle with caramelised pineapple and roasted banana, lifted by butterscotch and polished oak. Aromatic spices unfold, finishing with rum-and-raisin chocolate.
Finish
Cocoa powder dust settles on a lingering finish, mingling sugared almonds, toffee, pear and pineapple with spiced caramel, all perched on a cedar wood backbone.
