Just 3500 bottles of this 2017 Rum finished Miyagikyo were released. A fruity rich and satisfying whisky.

The nose is balanced with a lovely sweetness and minerality. Tropical peach and mango along with clooted cream and vanilla. The palate is textured and fruity with peach, pears in milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla and honey. There is also a balance by the additon of some woody notes, light tobacco and oilyness. The finish is spicy, warming, long and fruity.

Nose

Balanced with a lovely sweetness and minerality, the nose offers tropical peach and mango with clooted cream and vanilla.

Palate

Textured, fruity and creamy, it carries peach and pear in milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla and honey, tempered by subtle woody notes, a hint of tobacco and a slight oiliness.

Nikka Miyagikyo
(NIK-ah mee-yah-gee-kyoh) Nikka was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, a Hiroshima-born brewer’s son who travelled to Scotland in 1918 to study whisky-making. After establishing Yoichi in Hokkaido, Taketsuru completed Miyagikyo in 1969 in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, as Nikka’s second distillery and a deliberate contrast to Yoichi’s bolder style.
