Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-gold edges and a wine-bronze core.
Nose
Ripe orchard fruits pair with a deep sooty note and white pepper, resting on pecan pie and earthy digestive biscuit. Mossy peat threads through pudding-wine grapes and sultana, with a rock pool freshness, charred seaweed and a touch of coal tar. Dark chocolate hints emerge alongside lime pickle and white nougat. Water lifts a floral edge, yet it remains an exquisitely elegant Lagavulin nose.
Palate
Peppery lime pickle greets the palate with ripe orchard fruits and a botrytis-like pudding wine character. Waxy citrus, a touch of chili flake and ginger in honeyed sweetness. Sweeter peat smoke lingers, with a final hint of charred seaweed.
Finish
Black and white pepper on toffee, pecan pie, and ripe apricot with sweet pudding-wine grapes. A tarry caol tar smoke lingers, honeyed BBQ soot, and a kiss of ginger and chocolate-lime. Long and refined.
