Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, dark amber with mahogany depth and a coppery, glinting glow.
Nose
Peat smoke and sea-salt lift a lush Pedro Ximenez cloak, releasing ripe raisin, fig and prune, with molasses, baked apple and hints of dark chocolate and espresso, all carried on a whisper of vanilla and toasted oak.
Palate
Vigorous peat and smoke mingle with lush Pedro Ximénez sweetness, delivering a velvety, full-bodied palate. Raisin, fig and dark chocolate rise alongside sea-salted caramel, vanilla and faint spice. The sherry influence coats the tongue, with a long, warming finish carrying smoky, resinous notes.
Finish
Long, decadent finish where Lagavulin’s signature peat lingers alongside luscious Pedro Ximénez sweetness. Prune, fig and dark cherry fuse with toffee and cocoa, cascading into a warm, caramelized glow. A whisper of sea-salt and spice keeps it buoyant as the smoke gradually fades to a satin finish.
