Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Peat smoke and sea spray rise with lush sherry sweetness. Raisin, fig and date glow beneath a glaze of toffee, dark chocolate and roasted almond. Vanilla-spice warmth layers in, while a maritime touch of iodine and leather adds complexity. An opulent Islay nose—smoky, sweet, and deeply inviting.
Palate
Peat smoke and sea-brine lead the way, silky and full on the tongue. Double-matured sherry cask sweetness emerges as dark fig, date and cocoa mingle with a touch of toffee and roasted nut. An oily, velvet mouthfeel coats the palate, while roasted spice and a gentle iodine finish echo the Islay coast and linger with warming caramelized sweetness.
Finish
Long and sumptuous, the finish drapes peat smoke over velvet sweetness, with dark fruit and cocoa from the PX cask. Prune and fig linger, touched by salted caramel, while subtle maritime notes and spice fade to a refined, warm glow.
